Protest outside Meehan’s Springfield Office

By jdavis on February 24, 2017 in Health Care, Protest, Reproductive Rights

Thanks to everyone who supported this effort. Allie Kruk was able to meet with a member of Meehan’s staff, but they were more confrontational than expected, did not allow additional constituents into the meeting, and enforced restrictions against the demonstration outside. About

Moving the Needle was formed in early December 2016 by a small group of neighbors concerned about the results of the 2016 presidential election. Shortly after our first meeting, a group of former congressional staffers authored the Indivisible Guide, a soon-to-be viral document that offered many salient points about how to interact with members of Congress. As we continued to meet, using these tactics and others to define our mission, we learned of similar groups forming around the guide and naming themselves as Indivisible groups. Therefore, we amended our group name to denote our affiliation with the Indivisible Guide.

To date, our group of volunteers includes more than 300 members from Swarthmore, Nether Providence, Upper Providence, Ridley, Rutledge, Springfield, Rose Valley, and Chester - a geographic area that spans multiple State Senate and U.S. House of Representatives Districts.
